This is one of those tasks that takes fifteen minutes and sits quietly until the one moment it genuinely matters. If something happens and you can't speak for yourself, a clear card with the right names and numbers tells a paramedic, a hospital, or a kind stranger exactly who to call and what they need to know.

01Fill out one card by hand or print a simple version — both work fine.
02Keep one copy in your wallet, behind your driver's license or ID.
03Keep a second copy somewhere visible at home, like on the refrigerator or near the front door.
04Tell at least one family member where the home copy is kept.
05Update it once a year, or any time a contact, medication, or doctor changes.
It's a small task, easy to put off, and easy to finish in one sitting. Do it today, and it's simply done — quietly ready in case it's ever needed.
With care,
