Hi, Friends!

Every week I ask myself the same question before I sit down to write: what's actually worth five minutes of your time right now? This week, two things kept coming back.

The first is a number most of us have never been taught to track, not our savings, not our Social Security check, but our health, and what it quietly costs (or saves) us in retirement. I didn't expect the research to hit as hard as it did. It changed how I think about my own checkup I'd been putting off.

The second is lighter, but still useful: this fall's travel savings aren't showing up where they used to. I wanted you to know before you book anything.

Neither of these is about doing more. They're both about paying attention to something you already have, before life spends it for you.

Warmly,
Mike Bridges

You don't need a perfect plan, you need one honest look at the thing you've been avoiding, and one small step after it.

FEATURED ARTICLE

This week's article walks through what health care actually costs in retirement, what a single medical event can do to a household's savings, and a short, two-column exercise worth doing this weekend.

Most retirement planning starts and ends with one number: the account balance. Rarely does it include a second number that may matter just as much — how healthy you'll be when you get there. New 2026 data puts a real dollar figure on the gap between those two retirees, and it's larger than most people expect.

If I could show you how to make money on the side with little or no money would you be:
